Commonwealth Private Ambulance Providers (CPAP) is a group comprised of managers, owners and other individuals involved in the provision of ambulance transport in Virginia. Our purpose is to organize and encourage collaboration on problems that we all face as medical transport providers across the Commonwealth. On June 26th, 2008 the first meeting of the group was held to outline what our initial interests would be. Due to recent actions taken by the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services, our focus has initially become the relationship, or lack thereof, between medical transport providers and the Virgnia Medicaid system.

During our first meeting, the initial board was selected and is listed below. Membership is currently open to anyone with an interest in medical transport including medical transport services, 911 systems, municipalities, individuals and vendors. However, we stress that the purpose of our group is the support of private ambulance transport services in Virginia. If you are interested in joining our group, you may do so free of charge by emailing your interest to Chris Martin of First Med Inc. at coo@firstmedinc.com.
